Coaching Philosophy

  • Mindfulness

    How you do anything is how you do everything. Cultivating awareness of how we’re showing up helps forward momentum, in running and in life. Present moment awareness is where its at (literally). We support you to understand how your inner dialogue is impacting life as you know it,

  • Intention

    Life will have its challenges, as will running. Understanding WHY you’re doing anything, how your values support the goal and how what you’ve taken on fuels your purpose keeps you going. We support you to understand your why,

  • Momentum

    Startlines of any sort (running, new jobs, new life events) are exciting…and sometime daunting. We support you in creating momentum to START and KEEP going. One foot in front of the other takes you anywhere and we believe in you!

    Simply put, its better together. Holding hands with the support of a coach and a group of people working towards their goals and dreams alongside one another is inspiring and supportive. We create a community of support that will help you fro start to finish- in running and whatever goals you’re pursuing!

ABOUT ANDREA, Startline Founder + Coach

Associate Certified Coach (ACC)

Andrea has been running around (literally) for 15+ years.  What started as a bucket list challenge to herself (run a full marathon) turned into a life long love affair.  Running has taken Andrea to places she’s never dreamed- startlines of some of the worlds biggest marathons (Boston, Chicago and New York), and most importantly has been about moving meditation.  Running is an access point to peace, ease and joy in her life!  Andrea is a founder of two run crews (yyc run crew in Calgary and run collective in Edmonton, founder of the mindful running organization Mind(s)pace, a certified coach (executive and wellness) and has supported countless runners to find their personal Startline.  She is your biggest cheerleader and will support you in the pursuit of your goals - running and otherwise!


WHAT DOES A COACH DO?

Simply put, a coach helps you identify the thing or things that might be in the way to support you in taking steps towards your goals and dreams.

In running, we help you start. We support you to build a foundation and knowledge of running so you can start and keep running. Of course we provide a training plan to support you to increase distance and time in running, but we also talk about things like the mental, emotional and spiritual side of running. We can support to you learn about the gear you might need to run, help you pick “right sized” running goals, and get you set up with information about running shoes, proper nutrution and hydration for running, the importance of recovery and rest.
